LAURIE MEYER PLEIN AIR WORKSHOP
Friday, July 11
Paragon Fine Art
9am - 4pm
Hailing from Charleston, South Carolina, gallery owner, instructor, and award-winning painter Laurie Meyer has led plein air workshops worldwide, from Italy to Mexico. Her work is held in private collections in Europe and Asia, and now, Meyer is joining us in Lewisburg to share her artistic talent with our community. Through this plein air workshop, Meyer will enhance attendees' ability to describe the world around them through painting while also making a beautiful artwork of one of America's coolest small towns.
Meyer's work is hallmarked by her soft scenes of South Carolina and beyond, described through her sense of light and brilliant use of color. Her paintings exhibit an intuitive understanding of texture and structure, demonstrated through her playful brushstrokes and experiments with shadows. This plein air workshop aims to adjust perceptions of how to see the world, guided by Meyer's creative genius through verbal and artistic demonstration.
