FALL 2025 SHOW

Opening Night | Friday, September 26th at 6pm

Land, Sea and Table - Romantic and Impressionist Paintings of the 19th & 20th Centuries is an exciting and exclusive show that will feature premier works from the John A. Cuthbert Collection. This robust assortment of Impressionist and Hudson River Valley is a collectors dream come true. Cuthbert's collection has been amassed by him and his passion for art for over half a century. As former director of West Virginia Regional History Center and more than 40 years of service to WVU Libraries, he is one of the state's leading art authorities. This personally curatored exhibit will be sure to impress. Cuthbert is more than a collector, historian and trained painter, but also an accomplished author. He has written four books about West Virginia art and artists that have changed the perception of West Virginia's cultural heritage and solidified the Mountain State's vibrant role in American art history.

Balancing out the show is Paragon's rising local painter, Cathy Johans. Self taught and originally from California, Cathy moved to the Greenbrier Valley with her husband and 2 children decades ago. Her work consists of the world that surrounds her, finding the simple beauty and color that most dream about. Originally working with acrylic paint, she recently has moved to oil and is "loving it". Her work has grown both in composition and technique, but still very rooted in the playfulness of nature. Getting to witness the growth of an artist is one of the great benefits of the gallery world, not to mention the public and collectors recognize her as committed to the craft.

The Fall show will run through the remaining year. Works sold can be removed if desired by purchasing customers.
