“LEGACY & LINEAGE” 

“Legacy & Linage” – A celebration of 25 years of exhibitions of Lynn Boggess. This exciting and monumental show will feature new oil paintings from Lynn Boggess as well as his son, Evan Boggess. This show will be the first ever joint Boggess exhibition.

Lynn’s signature plein air style of painting has progressed over the course of a quarter century. His use of bold colors, impasto layers and his master manipulation of his modified mason’s trowel to create a nature inspired, expressionistic explosion on canvas has set him out from the many other plein air painters of our time. Primarily painting West Virginia landscapes and floral and fauna, Lynn has securely earned his place as one of the most successful 21 st century painters from our beautiful state with representation from the Nations Capital, North and South Carolina to Colorado and New Mexico. Twenty-five years ago, Marilyn Cooper of the Cooper Gallery at the current Paragon address, gave Lynn his first solo show. The rest, as they say, is history. Lynn continues to grow his audience and appreciation of the natural world with his commitment to Paragon Fine Art in Lewisburg, WV.

Evan Boggess is no stranger to Paragon’s address (formerly Cooper Gallery). Having exhibited throughout our state from the Clay center in Charleston to Shepherdstown, WV where he lives and works. Approaching the canvas in a completely different and signature style of his own, Evan combines his flawlessly painted figures into a surreal and sometimes abstract world. Creating thematic and moody compositions, his paintings command your attention and somehow simultaneously poses questions alongside of answers. We are honored to feature for the first time exhibiting together Lynn and Evan Boggess to Paragon in this milestone show.

Lynn will be presenting and demonstrating Thursday, June 25 in plein air at the historic “Swift Level” farm just outside Lewisburg.
This is a limited ticketed event, so please don’t delay.

The show opening will be held at Paragon Friday, June 26 @6:00 with both artists present for a meet and great. Saturday, June 27 @ 10:00 – noon at Paragon, Evan will give a painting demonstration that will be free and open to the public. Space is limited, so a first come, first serve policy will be honored.
